The Moder beetle ( Latridiidae ) are a family of beetles dar.

Features

The beetles are equipped with a height of only 0.25 to 3.2 millimeters very small and live well hidden and can be found wherever molds and their spores are found to serve as their food. Therefore, the most beetle Moder mycetobiont are (from mushrooms dependent).

Way of life

The animals live in many different areas, such as in hay and straw piles, in dried plant parts in leaves and detritus of forests, under bark, in birds' nests, but also in basements and dwellings eg behind wet wallpaper.

System

They are used worldwide with approximately 1,000 species in 29 genera in front, of which 189 species and subspecies are native to Europe.
