Laurent Lefèvre

Laurent Lefèvre ( born July 2, 1976 in Maubeuge ) is a former French cyclist.

Career

Lefèvre began his professional career in 1997 at the French cycling team Festina. After three years without mentionable success, he moved to Cofidis, where he again was unsuccessful. In 2002 he then moved to the French team Jean Delatour, which now calls itself Bouygues Télécom.

He won a stage of the Tour of Bavaria and the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré 2003, respectively. Previously, he took part in the six times Tour de France, with his best result of 34th overall, 2002 was. In 2006, he managed the 38th a similar performance.

At a Tour de France stage win so far was not enough. In the 2007 Tour de France he came on the 18th stage with a breakaway group to the finish and was 3rd. Two years later, he came on the 12th stage, again with an escape in the second rank.

After he has not received a new contract with Team Europcar, he finished his career in 2011.
