Lauri Valonen

Lauri Johannes Valonen ( born September 28, 1909 in Helsinki, † October 2, 1982 in Lahti ) was a Finnish ski jumpers and Nordic combined.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1934 in Sollefteå started Valonen in combination and in ski jumping. In the combination, he reached the 5th place. In jumping on the big hill he jumped to 4th place. A year later, at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1935 in Vysoke Tatry he won the silver medal in the individual Nordic Combined. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1936 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen Valonen started again in both disciplines. In singles, the combination he was doing and fourth in jumping on the normal hill he reached with jumps of 54.5 and 52.0 m the 6th Place.
