Lauricocha, Huánuco

Lauricocha is a small town in the central Andean highlands of Peru. It is located on the shores of Lake Lauricocha in the region of Huanuco. The community consists of half a dozen houses, scattered in the sparsely populated area at 3850 m near the village Antacolpa, around 25 km north- west of Yanahuanca, the capital of the province Daniel Alcides Carrión.

25 km west of the community is the Cerro Yerupajá ( 6634 m), the highest peak in the Cordillera Huayhuash and one of the ten highest peaks of the South American continent.
