Lauricocha Province
Lauricocha is a province in the central Andean highlands of Peru.
Location
Lauricocha is one of eleven provinces of the Huánuco region. It borders the province Dos de Mayo and the province Yarowilca to the north, the Huánuco Province and the province Ambo in the east, to the Pasco region in the south, and to the region of Lima and Ancash Region in the west.
Structure
The province covers a total area of 1880.13 km ² and is divided into seven districts:
- Baños
- Jesús
- Jivia
- Queropalca
- Rondos
- San Francisco de Asís
- San Miguel de Cauri
Population
The province has a population of approximately 38,000 inhabitants.
Capital
The provincial capital is Jesús.
