Lavertezzo

Lavertezzo is a municipality in the Valle Verzasca ( Verzasca Valley ) in the circle Verzasca. It belongs to the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The municipal area of Lavertezzo includes Riazzino Piano, an exclave in the Magadinoebene.

In the summer of 2010 a project was announced, with which the whole of the Verzasca Valley is to be summarized in a community, including also includes the main area of Lavertezzo ( called Valle Lavertezzo ) to do so. What to do with the exclave Riazzino, is not yet known.

Geography

The place is a good starting point to get into the valleys Pincascia, Carecchio, d'Agro and Orgnana. The famous bridge Ponte dei Salti known with two elegant arches, also known as Roman Bridge from the 17th century, is located here.

The industrial village Riazzino is located about 10 km away from Lavertezzo away in the Magadinoebene. It involves the previous winter pastures and vineyards of farmers of Lavertezzo. These practiced transhumance with a pronounced seasonal residences on the edge of the Magadino level (300 m), in the valley village (550 m ) on mountain pastures ( Monti, 1000 m ) and the Alps (1800 m). In addition to the main town and Lavertezzo Riazzino belong to the municipality the hamlet Aquino, Rancone and Sambugaro.

The community Lavertezzo bordered to the north by Frasco, on the northeast by Personico, to the east by Preonzo, on the southeast by Iragna, in the south-southeast at Lodrino, to the south Vogorno, in the south-southwest at Corippo, on the southwest by Avegno Gordevio, on the west by Brione ( Verzasca) and on the northwest by the exclave Gerra (Verzasca ) in the municipality Cugnasco - Gerra. The exclave Riazzino Piano bordered to the north and east Cugnasco - Gerra, on the south by an exclave of Locarno and on the east by Gordola.
