Lawrence Weiskrantz

Lawrence Weiskrantz ( born March 28, 1926) is a British psychologist.

Lawrence Weiskrantz acquired in 1950 the degree of B.Sc. at Oxford, and in 1953 the Ph.D. at Harvard University. He taught 11 years at Cambridge University and was from 1967 to 1993 professor of psychology at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. He is Professor Emeritus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Weiskrantz is best known for his discovery of the blind seeing ( Blindsight, see cortical blindness ).

In 1980 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States.
