The Lay ( in the upper reaches: Grand Lay ) is a coastal river in France, which runs in the department of Vendée, in the Pays de la Loire. It rises in the municipality of Saint -Pierre- du- Chemin under the name Grand Lay, drained generally in a southwesterly direction and decreases in L' Assemblée des Deux Lay (municipality Réorthe ) Petit lay on the creek. From here it is only called by the name Lay. He passes through the landscape of the Marais Poitevin and ends after 120 kilometers in L' Aiguillon- sur -Mer in the Atlantic.
