Le baruffe chiozzotte

Lots of noise in Chiozza (pronounced " Kiotza ", also known under the titles crash in Chiozza, armed in Chiozza or love affairs in Chiozza ) is a comedy in 3 acts, 1761 wrote Carlo Goldoni under the title Le baruffe chiozzotte in Venetischem dialect and the 1762 premiered at the Teatro San Luca in Venice. The place Chiozza corresponds to today's Chioggia in the south of the Venice Lagoon. In Chiozza, a place which is largely determined by fishing live " 40,000 souls " of which almost 30,000 are women. The play revolves around some Chiozetten who fight and have lovesickness, which degenerates to a small war.

Action

The first act describes how the women ( Pasqua, Lucietta; Libera, Orsetta, Checca ) in front of their two houses sitting klöppeln and chat about their soon returning men or future men, who are still fishing. Toffolo talks to women and dealing too much with the fiance with Titta Nane Lucietta, which makes for turmoil. He is interested in actually for Checca. The women argue, insult and Toffolo and send him away. When the men arrive again, the women initially try to mention what can only succeed them badly. Therefore, a struggle between Toffolo and Beppo, Titta Nane and Paron Toni begins. Paron Vicenzo and his troops will turn on and stop the fight.

The other two acts serve to settle the arising and repeated outbreaks of dispute. In Act 2 Toffolo accuses the persons with whom he had quarreled, by going to the adjuncts. The Adjunct interviewed all and tried ( both in Act 2 and 3), to reconcile them again by all married to each other, which faces many obstacles! In the end, the Adjunct after a series of nervous breakdowns to be able to move all back to their senses and settle the problems of couples who married them and bring back peace to the fishing village Chiozza.
