Le Brévent

Brevent, Chamonix from

The Brevent is a mountain with an altitude of 2525 meters at the southern end of the massif of the Aiguilles Rouges, in Haute -Savoie. Despite its relatively low altitude, it is very popular with hikers because of its location above the valley of the Arve and the panoramic views of Mont Blanc.

He can be reached since 1930 via a cable car. With a cable car from Chamonix reached first the intermediate station Planpraz from which you reached with a cable car to the summit of Brevent. This ski resort is one of the located closest to the center of Chamonix. Below the summit is the Brevent lake ( Lac du Brevent ).

The mountain is also the starting point for paragliders and Wingsuiter.
