Le Cambout

Le Cambout is a French commune, located in the department of Cotes -d'Armor and the Brittany region. It belongs to the district of Saint- Brieuc and the District of La Chèze. The village has 467 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). Mayor ( Maire ) is continuous Jean -Noël Lagueux since 1995.

Geography

Le Cambout lies at an altitude 50-137 m above sea level, the average height is 110 m. The municipality covers 18.02 km ² ( 1,802 ha), and the population density is 29 inhabitants per km ². The place is accessible via the secondary road D778, which runs at the location about 2 km west over.

History

On January 13, 1866, the site was established on the basis of an imperial decree as a separate community. Previously, the site was part of Plumieux. The chapel at the Château du Cambout was built already in 1663.
