Le Couperon dolmen and guardhouse

The Dolmen du Couperon is a Allée couverte at the end of the Rue du SCEZ in Saint Martin on the Channel Island of Jersey.

The 18 boundary stones almost completely surrounded, about eight feet long was built megalithic 3250-2250 BC. It consists of 21 supporting and seven capstones. The area was originally covered by a long mound. The current appearance is the work of earlier restorers. In the excavation in 1868, the deck stones were turned over to the chamber. Among the stones lying there was a hole with a soul, which was then improperly issued as capstone. In 1919, the Société Jersiaise away the stone and sat him on his current position at the eastern end of the chamber. However, he was originally the Trennstein between pre-and main chamber. The finds consisted of a few flint discounts and pottery shards.
