Le Droit Humain

Le Droit Humain also: International Masonic order for men and women ( Ordre Mixte International Maçonique " Le Droit Humain " ) is an association of liberal Masonic lodges.

The Grand Lodge for men and women Le Droit Humain was founded in 1893 by the French Deraismes Maria and George Martin.

History

The Freimaurergroßloge Grand Orient de France invited Maria Deraismes to a lecture about the equality of women. Nevertheless, there leaned the inclusion of women in the boxes from continue. In Paris also the senator and " Conseiller Général " George Martin was convinced that women should play a greater role in society. Therefore, he fought with her more than 10 years in vain for their access to Freemasonry.

In Le Pecq the men's gallery Les Libres Penseurs of the Grande Loge de France Symbolique Ecossaise became independent and took on January 14, 1882 Maria Deraismes on. Since the times of the Mopsordens, becoming one of the first women who was admitted to Freemasonry. After strong protests, however, this led to the closure of the Lodge. So decided George Martin and Maria Deraismes to establish the first modern lodge in the world that accepted both men and women as members. On March 14, 1893 16 women were inaugurated. A mixed -sex Freemasonry and the obedience arose. This grand lodge founded in the years that followed lodges around the world. At an Esperanto congress in Frankfurt am Main, the first lodge of Le Droit Humain was founded in Germany with the name " Goethe " in 1921. More lodges in Hamburg ( " Hamsa ", 1924) and Berlin ( " For Knowledge," 1929) followed. The German jurisdiction Le Droit Humain currently includes two boxes:

  • Albert Schweitzer in Berlin
  • Order of the heart in Neustadt / Wine Route
