Le Guerno

Le Guerno is a commune with 896 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region.

Location

Le Guerno located about nine kilometers north-east of Muzillac, and belongs to the Communauté de communes community association Arc Bretagne Sud. Neighboring municipalities are Noyal -Muzillac, Limerzel, Péaule and Marzan.

• Park and Castle of Branféré: The present castle was built in 1815. Since 1965 the park was formed by the former owners in an internationally renowned zoological garden.
• Parish Church of Saint Jean Baptiste: The parish church was erected in 1570, replacing an older, probably built by the Knights Templar church. Parts from the old building have been preserved in the Church today. Noteworthy is the external pulpit on the south wall, which was built to cope with the rush of pilgrims.
