Lệ Thủy District

Lê Thuy ( Thuy Huyen Lê ) is a district of the province of Quảng Bình in central Vietnam. It has an area of 1420.52 km ² and has 140 804 inhabitants ( 1998). Its main town is Kien Giang ( Thi Tran Kien Giang ). It is bordered to the north by Quang Ning District and to the south by Vinh Linh district. In the west, forms the border with Laos its extension.

Geography

The district extends from the coast of the South China Sea to the east over a small plane around the Kien Giang River to the Truong Son Mountains to the west. It is crossed by the National Road 1 and the railway line between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Due to the mountainous region in the west led the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Structure

The group includes two small towns ( Thi Tran ) and 25 municipalities ( XA).
