Learchus (regicide)

Laarchos (Greek Λάαρχος; Herodotus: Λέαρχος ) was a son of Battus II, king of Cyrene, in the 6th century BC

Laarchos fought along with other unnamed brothers against his brother Arcesilaus II for the succession of her father. Laarchos founded about 100 km west location bark and prodded at the same time the Libyan tribes to revolt against Cyrene. He murdered Arkesilaos to 555/550 BC, was murdered after his defeat at Leukon in Libya and was likely to take up its successor when trying on the orders of his wife Eryxo.
