Lebanese general election, 2000
Independent candidates won the majority of seats, although most of them were considered as members of different blocks. The turnout was 40.5 per cent; 1,112,776 people cast their vote.
Results
Of the 86 independent MPs are 48 considered as members of different blocks:
- 26 in the Hariri block
- 6 in Birri block (plus the ten Amal militia members )
- 6 Jumblatt in the block (plus the six members of the Progressive Socialist Party)
- 5 in Faranjiyyah block
- 3 in Murr- block
- 2 in the Hezbollah - block (plus the ten Hezbollah MPs )
- 1 in the Kataeb block (plus the two members of the Kataeb )
