Lebanon in the Eurovision Song Contest

This article deals with the history of Lebanon as participants in the Euro Vision Song Contest.

The Lebanese television station Télé Liban signed up initially for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2005 and chose the singer Aline Lahoud from internally to the French language ballad Quand tout s'enfuit (written by Jad Rahbani ) to represent the country. But then it came to disputes with the competition organizers of the European Broadcasting Union, which called for press reports about an expected suppression of Israel's contribution on Lebanese television, Télé -Liban to broadcast the entire competition, including Israel's contribution. This, however, could not guarantee Télé -Liban, since it contradicted by official data of the Lebanese legal situation, and so the participation was withdrawn. Since the bicycle kick was only after the specified period to, had to Télé -Liban nevertheless, the full registration fee plus a penalty, the amount has not been disclosed to pay. Furthermore, the country has been ruled out for the following three years from the Euro Vision Song Contest.
