Lebes Gamikos

Lebes Gamikos ( = wedding boiler ) is a clay pot used in Greek pottery.

Referred to as Lebes Gamikos vessel is large with a rounded body, long cylindrical neck, flat mouth and two double handles. It was used during the wedding rites and belonged to the bride's gifts. Lebetes Gamikoi were also found as grave goods in the cult of the dead and as a gift to fertility deities in dedications.
