Run

The LeBeoeuf Creek has its origin in the Summit Township and meanders to the south before the U.S. Highway 19 crosses. The eastern branch of the river has its sources in Greene Township and flows south until it empties into the Waterford Township in the main branch. In Waterford the LeBoeuf Creek flows under the Waterford Covered Bridge through and swings to the west. He crosses again the U.S. 19 and empties into Lake LeBoeuf, he then leaves again at the southern end. The course of the creek crosses again the highway and ends near Mill Village in the French Creek.

History

1753 was the Fort Le Boeuf built on the banks of LeBoeuf Creek by Paul Marin de la Malgue near the present-day Waterford, in order to protect the interests of the French in the Ohio Country against the British. The British seconded George Washington to Fort Le Boeuf to pass a note which asked the French to leave the area.
