The deciduous forest Rotkappe ( aurantiacum leccinum, syn. Quercinum L., L. rufum ), also oak or oak Rotkappe Raufuß, is a species of fungus in the family Dickröhrlingsverwandten.

Features

The brick-red to brown hat has a diameter of 6-15 (-20 ) cm. In youth, the hat is spherical and is bulky cushion -shaped in age. The top is finely tomentose, similar to suede and is greasy when wet. The tubes are up to 3 cm long, white young, brownish staining in contact and later gray to dunkelolivgrau. The stem is up to 18 cm long and 2-4 cm wide. It is thick and solid covered with reddish-brown scales. The meat is dark purple with discoloration in the stem base in violation, as in cooking.

Ecology
