LedÄice
Ledčice ( German Letschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers south of Roudnice and belongs to Okres Melnik.
Geography
The Rundling Ledčice located on the Bohemian panel in the headwaters of the creek Čepel. West of the village, the highway runs D8 / E 55, behind it is the site of a gravel pit. In the southwest lies the airfield Sazená. To the south rises the hill Škarechov ( Skarehof, 270 m).
Neighboring towns are Mnetěš and Černouček in the north, Horni Beřkovice in the northeast, Jeviněves in the east, and Vraňany Mlčechvosty the southeast, Vepřek Nová Ves and Sazená in the south, Miletice the southwest, Loucká in the west and Straškov - Vodochody in the northwest.
History
Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement of the place since the Neolithic period. The first historical news about Ledčice have the village in 1102 as the property of Vršovci - Prince Nemoj. His son Mutina sold all his property in 1187 to the monastery Doxan. Otakar I Přemysl 1226 confirmed the ownership of the Prämonstatenserinnenklosters, this is also a first written mention of Ledčice.
During the Hussite wars the village came to secular owners. 1436 acquired in January Smiřický of Smiřice the place. Other owners were in 1556 Samuel of Hradek and from 1616 Polyxena of Lobkowicz. Ledčice was at this time an unusually large village.
After the abolition of patrimonial Ledčice formed in 1848 a municipality in the district Roudnice. 1887, the first Child care in Central Bohemia was built in Ledčice. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Melnik. In 2001, the ALPINE constructed stavebni spolecnost CZ, as a sand and gravel washing and crushing plant for annual processing of 630,000 tons of raw material.
