Lee Hu-rak

Lee Hu - rak (* February 23, 1924, † 31 October 2009) was director of the Secret Service in South Korea from 1970 to 1973.

Lee Hu - rak was the right hand of former President Park Chung - hee. He traveled in 1972 secretly to North Korea to agree with the former leader Kim Il-sung an inter- Korean agreements, known in the English North - South July 4 Joint Communique.

Lee in 1979, elected to the Gukhoe, the National Assembly of South Korea, but in 1980 excluded charges of corruption of political activities. Although 1985, the charges were withdrawn, he remained until his death in 2009 outside of politics.

Lee died at the age of 85 years and left a daughter and four sons.
