Legislative Assembly of Tonga

Fale Alea is the unicameral Parliament of Tonga.

26 members are elected for three years in Parliament. It is located in the capital Nukualofa.

The last elections were held on November 25, 2010. They were the first for a political reform, had delivered V. King George Tupou rights to the Parliament. While previously only nine could be freely elected by 30 parliamentarians, 2010, a majority of the seats were awarded by the choice (17 of 26) for the first time. The remaining MPs are provided by the Tongan nobility, the king waived the appointment of their own representatives.

The newly elected Parliament was the first in November 2010, which could determine the Prime Minister of Tonga itself.
