Leif Andersson (biathlete)

Bo Leif Andersson ( born April 26, 1961 in Finspång ) is a former Swedish biathlete.

Leif Andersson was active for Skidklubben Bore. In the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s he was part of the Swedish national team. He took at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo for the first time participated in a major international event. In the sprint, he ran to 24th place, reaching eighth place in the individual his best individual result at Race of the top classes in the sport of biathlon. A year later, Andersson took part in his first in Ruhpolding Biathlon World Championships and came in the sprint for use, he finished as 29th. It took up to the 1987 World Championships in Lake Placid that the Swede could compete in a major event again. Andersson was in the sprint 32 at the competitions in the U.S. and ran in a single on the 37th place. The following year, he started for the second time in the Olympics. In Calgary, he was first in all three races possible to use. In the sprint, he was 57th, 37th in the individual as well as with Peter Sjödén, Mikael Löfgren and Roger Westling as the final runner of the Swedish squadron seventh. At the World Championships in 1989 in Feistritz an der Drau and 1990 in Minsk Andersson started only in the singles and achieved positions 36 and 48, his greatest international success was achieved by the Swede at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville. The discharged Saisies race Andersson was in single although only 38, but he won with Ulf Johansson, Tord Wiksten and Löfgren behind the squadrons from Germany and the CIS bronze medal. It was the first biathlon medal for Sweden for Lars -Göran Arwidsons winning the bronze medal in the individual games of 1972. 1993 he took the fifth and last time in part in world championships. In Borovets, he was 34 of the Single Page, and came with the relay in Olympic cast to sixth place. Last major event were Andersson's fourth Olympic Games in 1994 in Lillehammer. More than 20 kilometers of the Swede was 25, with the season he finished eleventh.

In the Biathlon World Cup Andersson met regularly since the first half of the 1980s until the 1994/95 season are used. He reached over again scoring points, but could only sporadically achieve results in the top 20. After his playing career, he worked for the Swedish Association.
