Leila Aboulela

Leila Aboulela (* 1964 in Khartoum, in Arabic القاهرة, ' ليلى ابوالعلا ') is a Sudanese writer.

Life

Leila Aboulela is the daughter of an Egyptian and a Sudanese. She grew up in England and lived temporarily in Jakarta and Aberdeen. Currently she lives in Doha.

She attended schools in Khartoum American School and studied economics at the University of Khartoum with a M.Phil. the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Your English novels have been nominated for the Orange Prizes.

She is married and has three children.
