Lekenik
Lekenik is a Croatian Large village with 6,032 inhabitants ( as of 2011) in the Sisak - Moslavina.
Geographical Location
Lekenik located in the triangle of the Regions Turopolje, Vukomeričke gorice and the Sisak - Petrinja, 21 km southeast of Velika Gorica, 101 m asl
Two km east lies the hamlet of Lekenicka Polyana (278 inhabitants), which offers a sight of the restored wooden chapel "Holy Spirit " to the 18th century.
Traffic
The place is situated on the main road connecting the capital Zagreb and the industrial town of Sisak.
Also on the railway between Zagreb and Sisak Lekenik is attached.
Moreover, already the construction of the A11 motorway has begun, which will link to Zagreb Sisak. Lekenik own connection point is then obtained, which should be completed in late 2008 (see Infrastructure, Transport and Telecommunications in Croatia).

Lekenik is the seat of an international SOS Children's Village.
In particular, the town and its surrounding countryside for many well-preserved farmhouses made of wood, decorated with characteristic details and carvings are known.
Even with anglers Lekenik is popular because the place offers numerous nearby rivers an unspoiled paradise of nature.
