Lekythos

The lekythos (Greek Λήκυθος ) is a special Greek vase for storage of olive oil, which was used in particular in the 5th century BC as grave goods. Lekythoi were mostly painted ( color on a white background, commonly, the outline on red clay painted around black, see red-figure vase painting ). While the Loutrophoros the wedding or funeral ritual aimed at the still unmarried woman, the lekythos refers to the unmarried man. The lekythos there are cemeteries - worked in stone in relief or - as a design element of the tomb, such as, among others, at the Kerameikos in Athens.
