Lelisa Desisa

Lelisa Desisa Benti (born 14 January 1990) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

The junior African champion over 10,000 m in 2009 was third in the 2010 Zayed Half Marathon and second in the Paris Half Marathon. At the Ottawa Race Weekend, he won over 10 km. In the World Half Marathon Championships in Nanning in 2010 he finished seventh and won with the Ethiopian team bronze, and at the Delhi Half Marathon, he finished second.

2011 followed a third place at the World's Best 10K victories at CPC Loop Den Haag, the half marathon of the Pan-African Games in Maputo and the Delhi Half Marathon. In 2013 he won in 2:10:22 hours at the Boston Marathon, which was a few hours later overshadowed by two bomb attacks.

Lelisa Desisa is 1,70 m tall and is managed by Elite Sports Management International ( ESMI ).
