History

Lens early works were inspired by artists such as My Bloody Valentine, Mystery Machine and The Descendents. When they were called " hip-hop Human League ", Marc and Sharon were flattered and admitted to be addicted to Human League. The band was founded in 1991; the founders are siblings and have an unusually close relationship with each other.

As an indie band Len released an EP and two albums, Superstar and Get Your Legs Broke, first on the label No Records from Halifax, Nova Scotia, then on her own label Funtrip. These albums were each 20000-35000 copies. To the duo still met D rock, DJ Move and Planet Pea. This additional staff changed the sound of their music from alternative punk / pop to a kind of hip-hop sound. They released the album You Can not Stop the Bum Rush in 1999, on which also the hit Steal My Sunshine was included, the eighth in the UK and reached nine in the U.S. and Canadian charts and led part of the soundtrack to the movie Go had. The piece consisted of Marc's husky voice and as contrast, the gentle -sounding voice of Sharon, accompanied by a sample from the song More, More, More by Andrea True Connection.

In 2002 he released We Be Who We Be only in the U.S. and Canada under the label DreamWorks. The album was originally intended for Q2 2002, but after years of delays, the band left the label and moved to Venus Corp. (EMI). On 14 February 2005 Venus Corp. published a completely different Len album, Diary of the Madmen, which came out only in Canada. However, some shops decided not to sell it because of the harsh language.
