Lengnau, Bern
Lengnau, also Lengnau bei Biel, French Longeau, is a municipality in the administrative district of Biel / Bienne Canton of Berne in Switzerland.
Geography
The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting Grenchen, Bueren an der Aare, Meinisberg, Pieterlen and Romont BE. Lengnau is located on the foot of the Jura in the Bernese Seeland.
Policy
Mayor is the non-partisan Max Wolf (2011 ).
The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 31.2 %, SP 24.4 %, 14.9 % BDP, FDP 10.9 %, 5.7 % GPS, glp 4.4 %, 1.6 % EDU, EPP 1.5 %, CVP 1.3 %.
History
In Lengnau to find traces of a settlement by Stone Age people. In the Roman period down indicates a short piece of Roman wall, which was discovered during excavations for the water reservoir of the Lochbach source.
