Leningradka Saint Petersburg

Leningradka Saint Petersburg (Russian: « Ленинградка » ) is a Russian women's volleyball club from Saint Petersburg, which was founded in 1935 as a DSO Spartak Leningrad and at the highest volleyball league of Russia, the Super League, participates.

History

The club was founded in 1935 as a DSO Spartak Leningrad. From 1939 he took part in the national championship. With the second place in the championship in 1948, the first great success of the club could be reached, further runner-up title followed in 1950, 1961 and 1980. Biggest success in club history make the USSR Cup victories of 1976 and 1977 as well as reaching the finals of the Challenge Cup 2008 / 09 dar.

1977, the name in TTU Leningrad ( tram and trolleybus administration) was changed before in the renaming of Leningrad, the club was named TTU Saint Petersburg. In the Soviet Championship Leningradka completed a total of 43 seasons. In the 1980/81 season TTU took second place in the European Cup Winners' Cup.

On the Russian Women's Championship takes part of the Club since 1992. The best result in the Russian championship, the fifth places from 1993 and 2008. Since 2003, the club plays under the name Leningradka Saint Petersburg under the umbrella of the SK Kapitan Saint Petersburg. 2003, the women's team got down to the second division, but managed in 2006 with the title in the Wysschaja League 's re-emergence in the Super League.
