Lenka Ptáčníková

Lenka Ptacnikova (born 16 January 1976) is a Czech- Icelandic chess player who plays for the Icelandic Chess Federation.

Life

Even her older brother Peter (born 1973 ) is a chess player. She married in 2002 the Icelandic chess grandmaster Helgi Áss Grétarsson. On 28 May 2004 she was awarded the Icelandic citizenship. She is now married to the people living in Iceland Egyptian chess trainer Omar Salama. In the Icelandic school championships in 2007 and 2009, she was the main referee.

Achievements

1994 and 1996 she won the Czech Single Women's Championship, 2003, 2004 and 2006, the Icelandic. The Nordic Women's Championship she won in 2005 in the Finnish Vammala and 2007 in the Danish Helsingør. In 2009 she was again in Reykjavík with 5 points from 5 games Icelandic mistress. However, the title of her defense in Reykjavík in 2010, this time in a play-off final.

She participated in ten Chess Olympiads: 1994-2002 with the Czech and from 2004 with the Icelandic women's national team. In 103 games at Chess Olympiads she won 70 points ( 48, = 38, -17 ). With the Czech national team in 1997, she took part in the third board of the Mitropa Cup men's for Iceland, she played in the European Team Championships for women in 2005 and 2013 on top board.

Chess club they played in the Czech Republic for DA Prague. With the Icelandic club Hellir Reykjavík she took part in the European Club Cup 2003. In the British Four Nations Chess League they played for Slough Sharks.

Since the early 2000s it bears the title of Grand Master of the women ( WGM ), a standard for obtaining the title of International Master (IM), it achieved at the Chess Olympiad 2010 your current Elo rating is 2317 (as of November 2010)., So it leads by a wide margin to the Icelandic Women ranking. This highest ever reached by their Elo rating they had ever had in March 2010.
