Lenka

Lenka Kripac (born 19 March 1978 in Bega, New South Wales), artist name, Lenka, is an Australian singer living in the United States.

Life

1978 Lenka Kripac was born as a Czechoslovakian father and an Australian mother in New South Wales child. When she was seven years old, the family moved to Sydney. There Lenka went to school and took part in the Australian Theatre for Young People, among others, Cate Blanchett, drama classes. This training enabled her several appearances in theater, television ( Spellbinder - Trapped in the past) and in independent films. Lenka is married to the artist James Gulliver Hancock and since March 2012 a son. Her husband is also a partner of her artistic work. He works as a designer with their album covers and video performances. She lives and divides his time between Sydney, New York and Los Angeles.

Lenka Kripac played in the electro-rock band Decoder Ring as a singer and keyboardist with which she the album Somersault grossing film of the same name, among others, as the soundtrack. In 2007 they separated after three years.

Kripac decided to pursue a solo career and moved to Los Angeles in 2007 for this purpose, where it was taken by the U.S. label Epic Records (Sony BMG) under contract. In 2008 she published in the U.S. by her stage name Lenka her eponymous solo debut album, it also appeared in Europe in the year. With the song The Show, she had her first big hit in England and in Germany.

When SWR3 New Pop Festival in September 2009 Lenka gave a concert in the Theater Baden -Baden. On the album Breathless by Christopher von Schiller Lenka Deylen project has two songs lent her voice ( Addicted and Sunrise).

Of 2012, with their single Lenka Everything at Once from her second album Two its biggest success in Germany. The song gained additional fame through a commercial software company Microsoft to launch Windows 8
