Lennie Niehaus

Leonard Niehaus ( born June 11, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American jazz musician ( saxophonist and composer ).

Life and career

After graduating as a music teacher played Niehaus et al, 1951 as Jerry Wald, 1951 and 1954-1959 with Stan Kenton and next with Bill Perkins.

In 1959 he composed especially for television and stage orchestra, jazz courses held at the University of Utah, gave concerts with Lalo Schifrin and writing arrangements for Stan Kenton and Jean Turner. He composed and arranged also film music, was responsible for the soundtrack of the film " Unforgiven " and "Bird" Charlie Parker, who was released in the fall of 1988. Meanwhile, director Clint Eastwood he knew for some time and also composed the music more of its films like Pale Rider - The unnamed rider, White Hunter, Black Heart, Perfect World, Absolute Power or Space Cowboys.
