The Lenzener Lake (also Lenzer lake ) located in the municipality of Gülzow - Prüzen in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. Only a small part in the west belongs to the municipality in the district of Mustin Ludwigslust - Parchim. The u -shaped waters located south of the national road 104 between Sternberg and Gustrow, north of the eponymous town of Lenzen. The lake is approximately 1400 meters long and about 1100 feet wide. The lake is surrounded by a belt of reeds and woodland in the northern part. In the water there are several smaller islands. The lake is a nature reserve and Upahler Lenzener lake.

The lake was lowered from the 13th century through drainage in the direction of the mist. The dry lying areas were used for grazing. North of the lake several water mills were operated until 1840. Competing ideas between farmers and millers to the level of the lakes water level led to centuries of disputes. Even today, the lake on the former mill streams to the north is drained out.
