Leonid Gulov

Leonid Gulov ( born September 29, 1981 in Narva ) is an Estonian rowers.

Sporting successes

Gulov won the 1998 and 1999 at the Junior World Championships gold medal in one competition. In 2000 he started together with Andrei Silin at the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney. They occupied the ninth place in the double sculls. In 2001, he won together with Tõnu Endrekson the gold medal in the double sculls at the U23 race, which since 2005 has the status of U23 World Championships. In the same year he was able to prove with the Estonian sculls seventh place at the World Championships in Lucerne. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he rowed again with Endrekson in the double sculls and missed fourth place almost an Olympic medal. In 2005 he started together with Endrekson, Jüri Jaanson and Andrei Jämsä in Estonian sculls. They won, among others, the World Cup race at Eton and in Lucerne. At the World Championships in Gifu they fight for the bronze medal. Since 2006 Gulov starts in one. The World Rowing Championships in 2007, he finished 24th place.

Awards

  • 2004 Gulov was selected along with his colleagues Tõnu Endrekson Team of the Year in Estonia.
  • In 2005 he won with the Estonian sculls choice for Team of the Year in Estonia
