Leonor Varela
Leonor Varela Palma ( born December 29, 1972 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean actress.
Life
Varela is the daughter of the biologist and neuroscientist Francisco Varela and his wife Leonor. In her childhood, her family was forced to leave Chile, and build a new life in Costa Rica, in order to escape the military regime of Augusto Pinochet. After the Pinochet era, the family briefly returned to Chile. Later moved Varela's family shortly after Germany and France. She's grown up with four languages English, Spanish, French and Italian.
Since 1995, Varela has worked as an actress after she had studied at the Ecole du Passage and the Conservatoire Superieur in Paris. To get her role in Cleopatra, the convinced vegetarian had to prevail against more than 35 competitors inside.
Varela appeared in numerous U.S., French and Spanish film and television productions. They often played leading roles in several episodes TV series.
Private the model brought the role of Cleopatra a love affair with Billy Zane, with whom she was even engaged for a short time. After that she was romantically involved, among other things with the photographer Anthony Mandler and actor Eric Balfour.
She is currently with the Argentinean actor and film producer Lucas Akoskin in a partnership. In November 2012 came their first child together, son Matteo, to the world. It is also Varela's first child.
