Leopold Kunschak Prize

The Leopold- Kunschak Prize is awarded annually since 1965 for outstanding work in the field of humanities, social sciences and economics from the ÖVP. Furthermore, recognition awards will be presented.

It is named after the Austrian politician of the Christian Social Party Kunschak Leopold ( 1871-1953 ). He is a year in March, the anniversary of the death Kunschak awarded. Wolfgang Mazal is Chairman of the Scientific Assessment Commission.

Ceremonies

The importance of the price reveals itself also from the Überreichungen each ceremony. So the price was on 3 March 2006 the Austrian Parliament with the participation of representatives from politics, economy, science and culture by Federal Chancellor awarded. Werner Fasslabend, for its part, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Leopold Kunschak price, pointed this out to the European perspective of this price. In 2005, the ceremony took place by the bowl. 2008, the price of Vice Chancellor Wilhelm Molterer was handed over to Wałęsa.
