Leopold Loeffler

Leopold Loeffler ( born October 27, 1827 in Rzeszów, † February 6, 1898 in Krakow, Leopold Edler von Löffler - Radymno, Leopold Loeffler ) was a Polish painter. He was known primarily for patriotic, historical paintings from Polish history, as well as genre paintings.

Loeffler was born in 1827 as the son of an official in Rzeszow. He spent the summer of 1832 with his uncle Philip Löffler, who was mayor of Radymno. Löffler studied from 1845 at the Vienna Hofakademie among others, Ferdinand Georg Müller forest, from 1856 in Munich. After that, he lived in Vienna, from 1877 he was a professor of art school in Cracow.
