Because of good performance, therefore, his contract was extended until 2011. At the beginning of the season 2008 /09, the attacker fell out with coach Willem van Hanegem and was rarely used. After his release in December 2008 shows George improving form again and found its way back into the first team.

National

Between 2007 and 2008, George was repeatedly asked by the Dutch U-21 coach Foppe de Haan to play for his team. This was due to the injuries of the regulars Siem de Jong and Luigi Bruins. Previously, he played for the U -20 in the Netherlands. In 2009 he was still in the squad for the U-21 tournament in Toulon.

In June 2009, George played the Parbo Beer Cup in Paramaribo for a Surinamese - Dutch selection. The team, coached by Aron Winter, was half domestic players, the other half surinamischstämmigen players in the Dutch leagues, so-called Suriprofs who had competed in the previous edition of the tournament in 2007 with his own team. The use of professionals - including Edgar Davids as captain of the team and Jeremain Lens - was possible because the tournament did not take place under the auspices of FIFA. The games do not count as official internationals.
