Les cinq codes

Napoleonic Code French law refers to two books:

  • Civil Code ( Civil Code, 1804 resigned as the Civil Code des Français in force from 1807 to 1815 and was briefly 1852-1871 officially renamed the Code Napoléon )
  • Penal Code ( Penal Code, 1810 came into force in 1994 in France completely revised )

Both codes had a role model for some other countries. They were introduced in the annexed by Napoleon or dominated as the daughter of republics and areas were there many times over the period of influence of France also valid.

Other codes that were introduced during the reign of Napoleon, with the top two yield the Cinq codes ( "Five Books Law " ):

  • Code of Civil Procedure ( Civil Procedure book, 1806)
  • Code de commerce ( Commercial Code, 1807)
  • Code d'instruction criminelle ( Code of Criminal Procedure, 1808)
