Letkov

Letkov ( German Ledkau ) is a municipality with 407 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of the city center of Pilsen, Plzeň- město Okres belongs to. The land area is 470 ha

Geography

The place is located east of Úslavatals in 392 m above sea level. M. Potok in the surrounding hills of the source basin of the Božkovský. Through the town led the state road 180 from Chrást by Stary Plzenec. Since 2007, the town link is shunned by a northwest trending bypass. This route connects Stary Plzenec with the driveway Kyšice on the national road 26 and continue with Kyšice. To the south runs the route of the D 5/Europastraße 50 highway and north of the branching off of it to Pilsen State Road 26 southwest of the village, close to the airport Plzeň- Letkov ( LKPL ). To the west lies the Úslava - already on Pilsener corridor - the deserted village Kristiánov.

Neighboring towns are Cerveny Hradek and Kyšice in the north, Ejpovice in the northeast, Tymákov the southeast, Stary Plzenec in the south, southwest, and Božkov Koterov in the west.

History

The first documentary mention of the place comes from a confirmation of John of Luxembourg in the court of Bohuslav from Letkov. The farm changed hands several times and the owner was regal. Charles IV gave it to his castellan to Karlstejn crown, Oldrich of Letkov. After 1412 Oldrich sold the seat to the Pilsener citizens Korandov, and other sales, the festivals Ledkov finally reached in 1505 by bequest to St. Bartholomew's Church in Pilsen. The associated village was described a year later than desolate. In the 17th century the town was resettled from this period still produced several farmhouses.

After the replacement of patrimonial Letkov in 1850 into an independent municipality. After 1960 Letkov was incorporated as part of the creation of "Greater Pilsen " to Pilsen and then came to the district as Stary Plzenec later. Since 1989, the village is independent again. Until December 31, 2006 Letkov belonged to Okres Plzeň -jih.
