Letters to Cleo

Letters to Cleo were in the 1990s, an alternative pop band from Boston.

Band History

The band was formed in 1990 when Greg McKenna disbanded his band to work with the originally intended as a background singer Kay Hanley as frontwoman. In 1993 the debut album was released on a Boston independent label, the band achieved with the second single Here & Now increased attention and ended up with this song also on the highly successful soundtrack of the television series Melrose Place. It was followed by a record deal with the major label Warner Music, where the next two albums were released. 1997 left drummer Stacy Jones the band to join the group Veruca Salt. He was replaced by Tom Polce, who was first heard on the third album, Go!, .

1999, Letters to Cleo in the film 10 Things I Hate About You to see where they are also the favorite band of the main protagonist. The soundtrack for this film contained three songs the band: A cover version of Nick Lowe's Cruel to be child Cheap Trick Cover I Want You To Want Me and Come on.

On 4 May 2000 Letters to Cleo played in Boston for the time being her last concert. Hanley brought two years later, her first solo album, Scott Riebling worked as a bassist for Nina Gordon and worked as a sound engineer with and Eisenstein to albums by, among others, Hanley, American Hi -Fi and Dropkick Murphys, who is married to Hanley, was the music faithful, among other things as a live musician for Our Lady Peace.

In September 2008, the band announced to play some gigs again from November to December.
