Levi Stubbs

Levi Stubbs Jr. actually Levi Stubbles (* June 6th, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, † October 17, 2008 ibid ) was the American lead singer of the Soul group Four Tops.

Life

Levi Stubbs, a cousin of Jackie Wilson, in 1954 founding member of the rhythm-and - blues band The Four Aims. In 1956 the group a recording contract with Chess Records and called himself since Four Tops. Stubbs was, although he was lead singer of the Four Tops and sang with most of the shots in a higher pitch baritone.

The great success of the group presented in 1964 at the Motown label, where the Four Tops with titles such as Baby I Need Your Loving, I Can not Help Myself ( Sugar Pie Honey Bunch ) or Reach Out I'll Be There Motown - sound of the 1960s helped shape.
