Lexell (crater)

Lexell is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of Mare Nubium, inside the mountain ring Deslandres, at the southern edge. The crater is eroded, especially in the northern area.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Swedish- Russian mathematician and astronomer Anders Johan Lexell.
