Lexington is a town in Lee County in the U.S. state of Texas. It has 1,178 inhabitants ( 2000 census ) in an area of 3.1 km ². The city lies about 80 km east of Austin and about 200 km northwest of Houston.

The city was named in 1850 after the city of Lexington / Massachusetts and 1917 registered as a town.
