Homosexual acts are illegal in Togo and will be punished with a prison sentence of one to three years or a fine. There is no anti-discrimination law in Togo.

State recognition of same-sex couples is not in the form of same-sex marriage or in a registered partnership in Togo.
Social situation
In Togo, there is only a small LGBT community in the capital Lome. Organizations who strive to protect the rights of homosexual people in the country are scarce.
