Lhota u Vsetína

Lhota u Vsetína ( German Lhota b. Lipthal ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-west of Vsetín and belongs to Okres Vsetín.

Geography

Lhota u Vsetína extends in the Valley of Rokytenka between the highlands and the Vizovická Hostýnské mountains. To the north rises the Janišovský vrch (573 m) and in the south of Nezdoby (593 m). Through the village leads the state road 69 between Vsetín and Vizovice.

Neighboring towns are Horni Potoky and Janišov in the north, and Rokytnice Srní in the northeast, Ústí and Leskovec in the east, the south and Seninka Liptál in the southwest.

History

The site was documented in 1374 in a document Vok of Krawarn on Stary Jicin as Vrchní Rokytnice first time. Vok left the Bailiwick Vrchní Rokytnice with grinder, Kretscham and other accessories including the privilege to hare and partridge hunting to a Bartoňs. The owner of the domain Vsetín, Jan von Messenpeck confirmed the Martin Vogt Bartoňs 1459 the privileges. In addition, Martin received Bartoňs and his sons Jakub Pavel and the right to build a sawmill. 1516 was the village of 14 farmsteads. After the suppression of the Wallachian uprising during the Thirty Years' War in 1644, most of the 41 properties were burned down. Six residents was then executed as insurgents. Since 1748 a local seal is preserved.

In the 19th century began the homework in Lhota. The residents made ​​shingles, pocket knives, glass beads and caning.
