Li Keyong

Li Keyong ,李克 用, lǐ Keyong; (* 852, according to other sources 856, † 908 ) was a troop leader and governor of the Emperor of China.

Li Keyong was head of the Shato Turks and was 879 by the Chinese Emperor Tang Xizong (reigned 873-888 ) called in to help, had occupied the capital of Chang'an as rebels under Huang Chao and mostly destroyed. His cavalry drove the rebels out by an attack of Shanxi Province. In February, 683 came on Liang Tian- mountain battle. Huang Chao had about 150,000 men under his command. Li Keyongs troops were numerically lower, but probably battle-hardened. After defeating the rebel army Keyong Li Huang chaos troops pursued as far as Shandong, where it weakened to the extent that near the Taishan mountain that Huang Chao 884 took his own life. The following year, the Emperor returned to Chang'an. As a reward for Li Keyong the existing province of Hebei has been extended by Shanxi. This drove the eunuch Tian Lingci, who has held the real power at the imperial court and forced a second time to take the Emperor into exile.
